Congratulations to Sarah Sarver, Ph.D. music theory candidate, for winning the best student paper award at the 2010 Texas Society for Music Theory conference!

Congratulations to Alan Theisen, Ph.D. music theory candidate, for winning the best student paper award at the 2010 South Central Society for Music Theory. Alan will also be the next Secretary of SCSMT next year!

Congratulations to Sarah Zipperer Gaskins, D.M. composition student, for winning the MTNA Student Composition Competition!

Congratulations to Andrew Gades who recently presented at the West Coast Conference of Music Theory and Analysis. The conference’s theme was “Analyzing the Music of Living Composers”, and it was held at the University of Oregon in March, 2010.

Congratulations to Fabrice Curtis, who will be presenting a paper that he coauthored with Elizabeth Morris (Central Michigan University) at the Music and the Moving Image Conference at New York University in late May!

Congratulations to Crystal Peebles, who will be presenting at the upcoming Indiana University Music Theory Symposium: “This is your brain on music theory”, to be held in late February.

Congratulations to Sarah Gaskins, Al Theisen, Dave Easley, and recent FSU graduate Jeff Yunek, who will all be presenting at the South Central Society for Music Theory conference in late February!

Two Florida State University students will be presenting at the 32nd Texas Society for Music Theory Annual Conference, to be held in late February this year. Congratulations to Greg Decker and Sarah Sarver!
